Keep the version as evidence
A familiar product name does not establish that an old leaflet describes a newly purchased kit. A formula, container or application system can change while the brand and shade remain recognizable. The safest purchase record retains the country, exact range, current carton and enclosed leaflet together. Treat an undated image from a marketplace as a lead to verify rather than definitive current instructions.
Natural Instincts is a useful example
The current US brand page describes a non-drip color creme and a twenty-minute product process. An older remembered ten-minute routine should not be silently attached to that page. The important purchasing point is the version difference, not a recommendation to choose one timing for yourself. The actual leaflet for the box in hand must resolve its complete instructions and relevant branches.
A webpage can also be incomplete
The current Natural Instincts web summary contains overlapping wording about previous coloring history. We do not repair that ambiguity by inventing which branch the author intended. A concise online summary is not necessarily the complete instruction sheet. This unresolved detail is recorded separately from the verified product identity, contents and public retail price.
Do not import another country's sheet
A PDF with a familiar logo can describe a different market, regulatory label, formula or packaging generation. Before using it as evidence, match the full title, country, language, shade scope and revision information. If those fields cannot be matched, keep it as historical or unmatched material. An older document should not become the source for a current US preparation recipe merely because it loads successfully.
An order-receipt workflow
Keep the order confirmation and photograph the unopened carton identity and lot information. Compare its contents panel and leaflet with the source you saved. If the package differs from the listing, contact the seller and manufacturer with those exact details. Do not open and combine containers while deciding which version was supplied. A resolved product identity should come before any application decision.
Separate the decisions
It is possible to verify a dated selling price while still lacking a complete matched leaflet. The price record does not fill that gap. Our buying tools can calculate whole kits and merchandise costs with clearly selected records, but they do not supply missing instructions. A source marked pending remains pending after code tests pass, and independent content review is still required before publication.
Preserve an earlier record instead of overwriting
When a manufacturer revises a page, keep the previous observation date if it explains an earlier purchase. Add the new version as a distinct entry rather than blending both into a single timeless description. For example,a change from a liquid-container format to a cream-tube description should trigger a new identity check, not a cosmetic edit to a saved how-to. The same applies when a retail UPC remains stable while imagery changes. An identifier can help locate the listing, but it cannot independently certify that every physical package shipped under it has identical instructions.
Sources & scope
Checked November 4, 2026. Manufacturer and retailer references support the specific statements. Dated displayed prices are not final checkout quotes, performance rankings or performance testing. This shopping reference does not replace the exact product label or qualified individual advice. Full matched leaflet and independent clinical/content review remain pending.
